The family name in bold capitals along a horizontal line, with "since" and a year running in script beneath it. Nearly two feet wide and only seven inches tall — a long, low proportion that suits the space above a doorway or a bench, where a square piece would look stranded.
Two type styles, and they read quite differently. Farmhouse uses a serif with fine bracketed strokes, traditional and a little formal. Modern is a heavy sans-serif, squared off and contemporary. Same sign, different room.
Black powder coat is the quiet choice and reads well against painted walls, brick, and stone. Raw steel is uncoated and will develop a rust patina over time — lovely if that's what you're after, worth knowing if it isn't.
Cut to order in the USA and shipped within three to five business days.
